Schroeder Research is an applied research company that specializes in organizational, employee, and customer research. We manage all aspects of projects from the design phase to report completion. We ensure that final reports include all the information that clients need and that results are conveyed in clear, easily understood language.

The principals of Schroeder Research have extensive experience conducting applied research. This experience includes the design of surveys and the development of sound measurement strategies. We understand the importance of clearly stated research objectives that will guide the production of survey content. We are also mindful of the role that precise wording plays in the accurate assessment of opinions and attitudes. In particular, we avoid pitfalls such as ambiguous, double-barrelled, or leading items.

The majority of surveys we develop are on-line applications. These have included employee opinion, customer satisfaction, and board of directors surveys. In some instances surveys are presented in paper format for self-administration. This method is used, for example, when individuals have limited internet access. Some surveys can be presented orally as a structured interview. This method is useful when individuals have reading difficulties. This technique is also preferred when follow-up information is required. A skilled interviewer can probe for details to clarify responses.

We also work with clients to improve the content of existing surveys. We ensure that surveys have appropriate breadth of content without being overly long or repetitive, and that the language used is appropriate for intended participants, e.g., reading level, terminology. We word items to minimize bias and avoid influencing respondents.

Other services we offer include program evaluation and needs analysis research. We have strong backgrounds in data analysis, including the application of multivariate techniques such as discriminant function analysis and multiple regression.
